Larry Hopper
– The “jokester” of the two!!! Once you meet him – you’ll never forget him!
Larry has been in law enforcement for over 20 years and is currently assigned as a detective with the criminal investigation division. He is the commander of the sheriff’s office K9 unit and assists with other agencies K9 units during their monthly inservice training.
Larry has not only trained with dogs from all around the United States, but has even trained chickens in shaping behaviors. He is a master K9 trainer in patrol/narcotics with Dogs for Law Enforcement and loves watching the transformation between the K9 and handler. In regards to training, Larry always says, “It’s simple but it’s not easy”.

Michael Ellsworth
– Michael has been married to his college sweetheart (Ashley) for 17 years. They have three beautiful children and currently reside in Terre Haute, Indiana.
Originally from Lake Wawasee (Syracuse, IN), Michael has always had a passion for outdoors, sports, animals, and serving his community.
Michael graduated from Indiana State University with a degree in criminology. After graduation, Michael pursued his dream career in law enforcement. Michael has been in law enforcement for 17 years. Currently a patrol sergeant with the local sheriff’s office. During his career, he has worked in several specialized units (Detectives, SWAT, Street Crimes, and K9) to name a few. Michael is very dedicated to his work and believes it to be very important to be well-trained in all fields that he is involved with. With completing several SWAT schools (including FBI SWAT School), several years as a police K9 handler, and many other specialized trainings; Michael plans on using his experience to succeed and excel as the co-owner of K9.5 Training Academy!!
